Rachel Sarshalom, MOT, OTR/L is a pediatric occupational therapist born and raised in Miami, Florida. She received her Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Florida in 2005 and her Masters in Occupational Therapy from the University of Florida in 2006. She is bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish. She has worked in pediatrics for over 10 years in the acute care hospital setting, working with inpatients and outpatients, as well as the home health and school settings.
While working in the hospital setting, she received extensive training in evaluating and treating a myriad of diagnoses such as: delayed infant milestones, hypotonia, prematurity, developmental delay, autism, sensory processing disorders, attention deficit disorder, coordination disorders, fine motor delay, visual motor difficulties, handwriting difficulties,cerebral palsy,hemiplegia, brachial plexus injuries, orthopedic injuries, Down syndrome, neurological injuries, genetic and congenital anomalies, traumatic brain injuries, stroke, cancer, infectious diseases, and spinal cord injuries.
Rachel was a leader in her department as a clinical coordinator for several specialized programs, liaison of the student program, and lecturer in many continuing education courses. After dedicating many years in the hospital setting, Rachel founded Hands Up Therapy, which treats patients in the home or school setting.
